Our Children’s Ministry focuses on leading children to become lifelong followers of Jesus. This ministry is uniquely designed for children newborn through 6th grade. In these classes Biblical principles and godly values are taught by our trained volunteers and staff. Classes are divided into Nursery, Toddlers, PreK-K, Grades 1-2, Grades 3-4, and Grades 5-6.
Our Youth Ministry includes includes everyone at Newport in grades 6-12, Junior High (6-8) to Senior High (9-12). This ministry is a safe place for teens to "step out" and use their talents in the church. We strive to create an environment for each teen to grow in relationship or be introduced to Jesus! These ministries meet multiple times or regularly throughout the month. There are also additional events throughout the year.
Our goals for worship at Newport Church are to create a worshipful atmosphere where people can meet with God, and to connect with him personally, as well as to grow in relationship with Him so that we can be more effective in showing Jesus to others.
Our Outreach Ministry seeks to take the church outside the walls of our building. This includes assessing the most pressing problems and needs of our wider region, while ascertaining the strengths and gifts we have within the church. We hope to match these areas of gifting and need, and develop new ministries where our gifts can be used to address the needs of our community. We would also like to develop new small groups and new churches that will be sent from Newport Church.
We recognize that nothing is accomplished in God’s kingdom apart from prayer. We want to bring awareness to the spiritual battle we are all in each day. Our Prayer Ministry seeks to develop a clear vision and strategy for prayer, while working to see Newport Church become a house of prayer. This ministry will teach and train about prayer, promote prayer events, and encourage others to have a heart of prayer.
Newport Church's prison ministry, in conjunction with Jubilee Ministry and Chaplains at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility, seeks to bring the love of Jesus to the inmates there. This ministry provides Monday evening services to the Women's Prison unit every other month. We look to expand that engagement as interest and commitment allows. Prison entry requires background checks.
